The God Who Sees
Mimi was a wife of an Air Force Master Sergeant. They had three children. They lived in various places in the United States, England, and Japan. One day, Mimi’s husband came home, told her she was a fine woman, and any man would give his eye teeth for her, but he was having a relationship with another woman. He informed Mimi, he had to “do his thing”. He packed his bags and left her and his children. Mimi was devastated. She did not know how she was going to care for herself and her family. She didn’t know how to drive…never mind she didn’t have a car or a job. Worst of all, without her husband, she had no income. There was no family or friend around to ask for help. As Mimi mulled over the crisis…anger quickly took over…then feelings of deep despair. She sunk into depression…there was no hope. The thought entered her mind to kill herself and be done with it. But then, she thought no….I can’t do that to my children…there just has to be more to life than just this. In her darkest hour, an hour of great temptation…Mimi began to think about God and cried out to Him to help her!
Soon after, she was watching TV and there was a Christian program on. She sat down and listened. She heard about God being her Father and His willingness to help in any situation. A counselor’s telephone number was posted on the TV screen. Mimi picked up the phone and called the number. A very pleasant lady answered. She explained and assured Mimi that God desired to meet her needs and that He loved her and wanted her to experience His peace and abundant life.
Mimi heard the message that God loved the world so much…but being at peace with God was not automatic, because sin had separated all of mankind from Him:
“for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”
Romans 3:23
God sent His only Son Jesus into the world to bridge the gap of separation between us and God. God’s plan is that whoever believes in His Son will not perish but will inherit eternal life. (John 3:16)
When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He paid the penalty for our sins.
“He personally carried the load of our sins in His own body
when He died on the cross…” 1 Peter 2:24
You can cross the bridge into God’s family when you make a decision to ask Jesus Christ to come into your life.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name…”.
John 1:12
God’s invitation is for you to turn away from your sins (repent) and by faith (by simply believing) ask Jesus and receive Jesus into your heart and life. Make a decision to follow Jesus and obey Him as your Savior and Lord.
If you want God’s friendship and all the blessings He offers…let’s pray right now:
“Lord Jesus, I know that I have done wrong things, I’ve sinned. But I believe you died for my sins. So right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to You. I receive You, Jesus, as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
If you said this prayer, it is best to write down this date to remember it, because one of Jesus’ followers wrote in— 1 John 5:10-11:
“Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart…God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has Life; he who does not have the Son of God, does not have life.”
According to John 1:12 and 3:16 when you prayed to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, you became a child of God and right now you have inherited eternal life. You are like a beautiful newborn babe in Christ. You have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. This is just the beginning of living a new life of faith.
We pray you will desire the sincere milk of God’s Word (the Bible) because God desires His children to grow up into Him. 1 Peter 2:2 Our Heavenly Father doesn’t want us to stay baby Christians, He God desires we grow spiritually, and have a daily love relationship with Jesus. Every day of the week is a gift from God and should be lived for His glory and for His honor (Psalm 118:24). In this faith journey, God intends for us to learn about Him and connect to other believers in Jesus. We have the great honor and privilege in America to freely worship together with other believers in Jesus’ resurrection Life, Power, and Presence. We hope you will count it a blessing to come with us and meet with Jesus! Our desire is to encourage you in your faith.
On the day Mimi prayed to receive Christ Jesus into her heart, her whole life changed for the better. The counselor connected Mimi to a church that was in walking distance from her home, and she began to attend regularly. Shortly thereafter, a lady befriended her. Her new friend was the headmaster of the church’s pre school program. She offered Mimi a job and after training, Mimi became a pre-school teacher. As Mimi grew in the Lord, her children came to know Christ Jesus; and because of Mimi’s faith in Jesus, her life and the lives of her family that came after her, were dramatically changed for the better!
Mimi attests that God changed her destiny and her whole life. Now, 97 years young, Mimi is full of joy and thanksgiving as she looks back on her life and how the Lord lifted her up and carried her through in His eternal arms of love.
